Lately, I’ve had a real obsession with black metal doors and windows and I can’t stop my almost constant search of Google Images for new inspirations. They have such an elegance about them and make a real statement.
These black metal windows and doors in a house designed by the talented Anne Hepner definitely make me swoon. Taking the windows right up to the peaked roof really makes it a focal point, not to mention allowing substantially more light in.
Here is another cottage that brings the black metal windows right up to the peaked roof perfectly framing the view of the lake. This one is designed by Montreal Firm YH2 Architecture.
On another house featuring a peaked roof designed by Donald Lococo Architects, the wall of windows features French doors on the lower half leading out to the patio creating a strong statement.
Here Post Architecture has used a black metal door and windows as a creative way of sectioning off the entryway from the living room.
I’m loving this Mediterranean-style door by AB Design Studio.
These doors and windows designed by Chango & Co for an Amagansett beach house really stand out against the white entranceway and allow a lot of light in.
The retractable black metal patio door in this space designed by Architect Andrew Heiser makes a real statement and allows for seamless indoor/outdoor entertaining.
Andrew Heiser also used a metal door and windows in the bathroom of the residence. I love how the black grout in the shower complements the black metal.
Here’s another fabulous black metal shower door, this time by Summer Thornton Design. I also love how she continued the theme by using metal for the vanity.
In this house designed by Malcolm Davis Architecture, they used metal doors and windows on the back of the house leading to the garden as well as in the shower. I love the opaque door from the shower to the balcony which lets in light but still allows for privacy.
This amazing window screen designed by Clement Windows Ltd. is a great way to divide the space while still allowing light into the kitchen.
In these houses, Clement Windows created complete floor-to-ceiling walls of windows with doors that lead out to the patios. I love all the light this feature allows in.
