Add garlic and garlic powder to softened butter and combine well. Allow to sit for a few minutes and stir again to combine flavors.
Slice ½ of the French loaf down the middle lengthwise and butter each half generously with the garlic butter. You want it well-buttered.
Place both halves of French loaf buttered side up on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the bread is turning brown and slightly crispy around the edges and the butter has melted through.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley (if using) and serve immediately.
